ALDIES
Before starting ALDIES, Akuzawa-san honed his craft behind the scenes by managing production, planning collections, and shaping sales strategies at various apparel companies. In 2004, he turned that foundation into something of his own. ALDIES began not with garments, but with bags and hats, each one an explosion of color and personality that set the tone for what was to come.
The brand found a physical home in 2007 with the opening of NAPOLEON FISH in Shimokitazawa, a Tokyo neighborhood known for its independent spirit. From there, ALDIES began to travel; first to Hong Kong, then Vancouver, then into the wardrobes of those who value individuality over convention. Every collection brings together function and flair, patchwork and purpose. It’s a brand that resists categories, where borderless design speaks loudest in bold patterns and confident silhouettes.
